Painting / Mimi Petersen

Mimi Petersen was born in Jamaica Queens, NY, and grew up in Danbury, CT. She lived for many years in Chester County, PA. She has been painting and exhibiting since 1985. Her paintings are in numerous private collections. She was a founding member of the "24 Hands" artists' group which exhibited from 2000 to 2011 in alternative spaces in Chester County, PA, and Wilmington, DE.

Mimi studied painting at Western Connecticut State College and the Arts Center at Wooster Prep School in Danbury, CT. She received her BFA in painting from Philadelphia College of Art in 1984. She also has 25 years experience in art conservation. She and her husband have traveled throughout Europe and the USA and now live in Pinos Altos, New Mexico.
